How to watch
This lecture starts on 8 June at 7:00pm (UK).
Summary
Lebanon, and the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hizbollah—the key Iranian proxy in the region—has once again dominated news headlines, even as the Iran War and the Strait of Hormuz standoff continues, and speculations swirl as to whether there might be a deal or if there will be a dramatic resolution of all-out conflict. The conflict in Lebanon is thus a key barometer of so much going on across the Middle-East, a key front in the regional power struggle between the US, Iran, Israel, and Arab Gulf states. By understanding it, we will get a better understanding of the wider dynamics, the current war, and the future of the region.
