Summary

Surrounded by spectacular landscaped gardens, the Château de Chantilly is one of the most picturesque castles in the world. Belonging to the powerful Montmorency family from the 15th to the 19th centuries, it was restored and transformed in the 19th century by the Duc d'Aumale who presented it to the French nation along with one of the finest art collections to be seen outside of Paris.
