William Tyler
The Cold War Begins

Monday 20.04.2026

How to watch

This lecture starts on 20 April at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

Previously, we began to see how the Cold War crept up on Europe, Berlin, and across Germany. In this follow-up lecture, we take a far wider view by looking at the two Superpowers—the USA & the USSR—across the globe. We also examine the first major “Hot War” of the period in Korea, which so easily could have led to a wider conflict.
