Monday 9.03.2026

How to watch

This lecture starts on 9 March at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

Appeasement—the very word itself carries today a strongly negative vibe, mostly associated historically with Neville Chamberlain, British prime minister at the end of the 1930s. The climax of the British government’s policy of appeasement towards Hitler’s Germany was the now notorious Munich Agreement of 1938, brought home by Chamberlain under the slogan, Peace in Our Time.
