How to watch
This lecture starts on 26 January at 5:00pm (UK).
Summary
As the world was barely recovering from the economic downturn at the end of World War I, the American Wall Street Crash of 1929 led to a global economic crisis. The German economy, which was arguably the most fragile of all, again collapsed. We all know the consequence, namely the Nazi seizure of power in 1933, leading to, six years later, the second World War of the century.
