Hagai M. Segal
Gaza Peace Plan: Will Trump Learn from History?

Monday 8.12.2025

How to watch

This lecture starts on 8 December at 7:00pm (UK).

Summary

Please note this session will only be available to watch live.

As the old adage goes, those who don’t learn from history repeat it. Donald Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan is gaining momentum, the UN Security Council having adopted it as the ceasefire tenuously holds on the ground. But the plan, though in many ways new and different, risks making some old and familiar mistakes from recent history that still haunt the region. Hagai, who has previously participated in Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, explores how understanding the past may help us understand what is to come in the months ahead.
