Summary
As World War I (1914–1918) drew to a close, and the Russian Revolution began in 1917, there were uprisings throughout Europe, many of them spearheaded by leaders of Jewish birth. In this lecture we examine the factors that explain this extraordinary phenomenon, and consider to what extent it was responsible for a huge upswing in antisemitism.
