How to watch
Summary
Over a series of four lectures we will examine the lives and works of women artists in Paris in the early modern period. This presentation will focus on Suzanne Valadon (1865–1938) and Marie Laurencin (1883–1956) who were two of the most celebrated and successful artists of their times, defying social conventions and holding their own against the powerful men who surrounded them.
