Professor David Peimer
Napoleon and Hitler in Feature Film
Summary
We will explore how Napoleon and Hitler have been portrayed in certain films and consider how they have been depicted in movies. In doing so, we will question notions of heroism and idealisation, the fatal and enduring fascination of evil, stereotypes and three-dimensional humans, charisma in enlightened despotism, and the heart of darkness in leadership.
