Guy Fawkes: Hero or Villain?
How to watch
Summary
Since 1606, on November 5th, villages and towns throughout England have held mass celebrations. Amidst firework displays costumed processions and general frivolity, the evening culminates in the burning of an effigy of Guy Fawkes, the man most associated with the plot to blow up parliament on November 5, 1605. To Protestants, he was a symbol of regicide, to Catholics, a martyr. This presentation will unravel the many strands of this historical moment.
