How to watch

This lecture starts on 31 October at 5:00pm (UK).

Summary

On the ninth of Av (Tisha B’Av), King Edward I issued the Edict of Expulsion. No Jew was to be found in the Christian land of England after November 1, 1290, All Saints Day. This was the culmination of a period of Jew hatred inspired by the church. This session will also discuss how modern antisemitism has been fed by the historic demonisation of the Jew in the world of monotheism.
