Summary
With President Lyndon B. Johnson (1908–1973) deciding not to seek re-election, the race for the White House was thrown wide open. In a year of protests, riots, and assassinations, the election tested America in a way never seen before. Vice President Hubert Humphrey (1911–1978) was the eventual Democrat nominee and Richard Nixon (1913–1994) rose from the political dead to be the Republican champion. In this presentation, we will explore the twists and turns of an unprecedented race.
Mark Malcomson
Mark Malcomson has been principal of City Lit since 2011. Previously, he was the Director of Executive Education at London Business School and president of the New York Institute of Finance. He possesses a bachelor of laws from the University of Edinburgh; a diploma in legal practice from the University of Strathclyde; and a masters in international relations from the University of Kent. Mark was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to adult education.
