Professor David Peimer
The Unique Life and Voice of Frank Sinatra
Summary
Ol’ Blue Eyes had a remarkably varied life, working with almost everyone in the music world (and possibly the Mafia!). He mixed with presidents, had Bob Dylan play at his 80th birthday, acted in movies, and sang some of the greatest and most memorable songs ever written. He also raised money for the Hebrew University, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, helped establish two centers in Israel, and did clandestine work for the Haganah in 1948. He didn’t just live “My Way,” but seemed to live many ways. We will look at the full life of Sinatra and enjoy listening to some of his songs. “It’s his voice,” as Dylan said.
