2024: An Uncertain World

Summary

The world seems less stable now than at any point since 1945, with many referring to this current era as the New Cold War. Beyond politics, war and the threat of conflict, lies the looming spectre of the survival of the planet. Nevertheless, America remains the leader and financier for the West. This lecture asks, will America guide the entire world toward what Winston Churchill termed “sunlit uplands?”

William Tyler has spent his entire professional life in adult education, beginning at Kingsgate College in 1969. He has lectured widely for many public bodies, including the University of Cambridge and the WEA, in addition to speaking to many clubs and societies. In 2009, William was awarded the MBE for services to adult education, and he has previously been a scholar in residence at the London Jewish Cultural Centre.

It’s the old enemy. That’s what he would strike at. It’s also the easiest capital to strike at from Russian territory. From Belarus, for example. Or even nearer, from Kaliningrad.

A, he hides the Muslim problem and B, it sells well within Russia. “This is the dreadful Ukrainians. These are the Nazi Ukrainians. You can’t trust them. They will even kill concert-goers.”

Yes, there is but it’s crushed. I’ve always said, when the ayatollah first went in, that educated Iranian women would not put up with it, but they put up with it for decades because they had no choice. So I don’t know. It could be overthrown tonight, it could take 30 years.
