DIN and Abba Kovner: Justice or Revenge?

Tuesday 26.04.2022

Summary

Abba Kovner (1918–1987): From his birth to his involvement with Hashomer Hatzair in Vilnius, Kovner’s journey unfolds amid the harsh realities of the Nazi invasion, ghettos, and the contrast between brutality, represented by Franz Murer, and heroism, as seen in figures like Anna Borkowska. The lecture concludes by reflecting on post-war ethical challenges, spotlighting the complex dynamics of justice and posing poignant questions about struggles, including the rescue of Jews.
