Trudy Gold
The Jews and the Seduction of England
Summary
When Max Nordau spoke at the first Zionist Congress in 1897, he stated that England was the only country in the world free from the taint of anti-Semitism. This was certainly not true as England was the first country to apply the blood libel to Jews, the first to institute the wearing of the Jew badge, and the first to expel them. Yet when a community emerged in the 1660s, a love affair, perhaps unrequited, began. This is their story.
