Abomination of Abominations: The Germany-Israel Reparations Controversy
Summary
Philip Rubenstein looks at the vexed issue and the controversy around the German reparations agreements after the Shoah. These were agreements that were made both with the State of Israel and with representatives of the individual survivors of the Shoah. The issue was hugely divisive at the time, hugely polarising, particularly in Israel, but also within the wider Jewish world.
