Patrick Bade
Culture in the Third Reich

Wednesday 3.05.2023

Summary

Patrick Bade explores what the cultural scene was like under the Third Reich. You might think that that is a contradiction in terms. Goebbels famously said, “Every time I hear the word culture, I reach for my gun.” In fact, the Nazis had considerable respect for the power of culture, and they wanted of course to control it and to subvert it.
