Dr. Leonardo Trasande

Dr. Leonardo Trasande is Professor of Pediatrics and Professor of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he also serves as Director of the Division of Environmental Pediatrics and Vice Chair for Research. He holds additional appointments at NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and School of Global Public Health. An internationally recognised leader in environmental health, his research examines how everyday environmental exposures, including chemicals found in plastics, affect human health across the lifespan. He is perhaps best known for a series of studies documenting the health and economic costs of endocrine-disrupting chemicals in the United States and Europe. His work has helped shape public policy, and he leads multiple National Institutes of Health-funded research initiatives investigating the impact of environmental pollutants on children and families. Dr. Trasande earned his medical degree and Master of Public Policy from Harvard University.
